No More Same Old Same Old

January 12, 2018

I was watching a preacher on TV and he was talking about us getting so caught up in what we know that we do not look for God. We don't look for Him to speak. We don't look for Him to heal. We do not expect Him to comfort. Most of the time we expect God NOT to keep His promises rather than hope and be disappointed.

In Zechariah 9:11-12 it says:

"As for you also, because of the blood of my covenant with you, I will set your prisoners free

from the waterless pit. Return to your stronghold, oh prisoners of hope, today I declare to

you I will restore to you double."

Too often 'prisoners' get into their routines and do not expect God to intervene. It is not just prisoners in the jailhouse either. People in the prison of lust, gossip, greed, addiction, or any number of other prisons, keep their dirty little secret hidden and put up the front that everything is “cool.” They are comfortable with their little pet sins just like a prisoner gets used to the fences, towers and count times.

The thing is God wants to move on our behalf. In fact He has promised to deliver us from every scheme of the enemy. In this verse he calls us "prisoners of HOPE." Is hope just some pie in the sky dream type thing? No. Hope is based on a promise that God has made. Then we put our faith in that and add substance to it.

The problem is that we have failed so many times we are afraid. We are afraid that God won't move and we will fail again. God never fails though. We just need to turn into the right frequency to hear the God message for each of us. When we hear what God has for us how can we fail. In fact, many of the prophets put it right on God and said, "If you don't act then your name will be defamed."

As we start this New Year can we step out in faith? Trust God again to be God. He is able. Can we believe that His word says we "restore to us double?" Can He do it? Isn't He able?

Then why don't we trust Him?

Why not start today?
