God Shows Up

"But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth His son, born of a woman,

born under the Law, to redeem those who were under the Law, so that we might

receive the adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent His Spirit

into our hearts, crying 'Abba.'"

(Galatians 4:4-6 ESV)

God has a habit of showing up 'at just the right time' even though it is not the time we would like. I mean, it would have been great (from a human perspective) for God to show up prior to a trial. I mean, can you imagine facing the fire of a super-heated oven like the three Hebrews boys in Daniel? But God showed up IN the flames. Not before. There are hundreds of examples in the Bible that show this principle.

Isn't it the same in our lives? We see God show up and show off at just the right time. Yet I find myself asking time and time again, "God, where are you? Don't you see what is happening down here?" It is going to be amazing to me to one day see the completed picture that He is painting down here.

Then there are the times when we do not think He showed up at all. It is as if God didn't care and just allowed it all to happen. Can you imagine what was going through the mind of Mary as her child was beaten and then crucified? Do you think we are more spiritual or enlightened than any of the disciples? I think we would have acted the same way or worse.

It was the right time to redeem us. I had a teacher in the Limon prison say it like this, we were standing naked and exposed as a slave on an auction block. Jesus came and bought our lives and set us free from the slavery of sin. We are redeemed and set free.

We are now sons and daughters of the Most High. Have you ever noticed that royalty act and speak different than normal people? I think that is because they are different.

We also have the Spirit inside of us. He enables us to live like children of the king and not children of the world. We should be living like we are royalty of the Kingdom of Heaven. With power.
